2019 Off-Season
« on: 20 Nov 2018 1:30:55 PM »
Good afternoon, all!
Throughout this week I'll be getting the GM Desk taken care of in preparation for the 2019 simulation season.  At this time, it's been switched into off-season mode, so you'll notice quite a few restrictions on your movements.  Give me a shout if you have any questions!

Are there any thoughts/plans as to an ETA for the release of an off-season calendar?

Good evening!
You should have seen some changes on the GM Desk to this point.  PLEASE sanity check the following for me:

1. The only players highlighted in blue on your roster should be those signed to an LTC expiring in 2020 or later and those you just signed to a multi-year deal in the most recent off-season.
2. All players on your roster should have their real age.  No one should have a 0 in the age column.
3. Any players signed in Tier 2 who had eligibility remaining should now show that designation (1st, 2nd, etc.)
4. All GM Statistics should be updated to include 2018 information.
5. All players should now have 2018 statistics on their information pages.
6. 2019 Draft Order has been assigned
7. 2020 Draft Picks are in your GM Desk and are able to be traded when the GM desk opens.
8. A few other behind the scenes things have been updated.

Still to come:
1. Salary Caps for 2019
2. Release Free Agents
3. Calculate salary demands for all players
4. Tier 1 FA

All four of those are tied together, so if you see any errors to this point please post them in this thread immediately.  We'll be pushing forward sometime tomorrow after lunch.

Jon,
Factoring in the items you noted as "yet to come", the Dodgers' roster looks good.

Can you give the EC a "drop dead"/speak up or forever hold your peace deadline to get our initial review finished.  We need to make our review of your work a priority.  In my opinion anyone who doesn't get their work done can live with your best effort.

I would hope this sort of thing doesn't have to come to a majority vote.

With a full 1/3 of the league having responded in the thread or via PM, Iím comfortable moving on today. If there were errors, I believe we would have located them by now!

All teams should now see the following:
1. All players who should be free agents should be listed in the free agent page and no longer listed on your rosters.
2. Minimum salary has moved to .555 in order to mirror MLB as we have done in the past and has been approved by the EC.
3. All players should be highlighted correctly.  I found some errors with players who did receive ratings in 2018 but weren't correctly showing up.

My next step involves computing new arbitration salaries and moving the GM Desk to year 2019 several times to check my work.  Here is what I need from GMs:

1. If you are on before 12:30 PM eastern time today, you may move in and around the GM Desk to check my work and look at where your roster stands.  Please do not make any moves.
2. Beginning at 12:30 PM eastern time today, please refrain from using the GM Desk until I update everyone.

Many thanks!
