Week 24 Posted
« on: 9 Sep 2018 8:49:10 PM »
Stats/file is posting now.  Enjoy!

I'm stumbling at the wrong time.  Lose 4 straight to OAK/CHA before pulling out the last two games of the week.  Not the way I want to be finishing the season!

Toast!

A couple of pitching moves occurred during the Dodgersí disastrous Week 24 that I cannot understand.  In the first inning of the first game of the week, only after three batters, two of which were strike outs, the third hitting a single, Jake Arrieta was pulled from the game and it became a bullpen affair for my staff.  The Dodgers lost 3-4.

I cannot find any reference to an injury that occurred.

In the second game of the week, after two innings on the mound, Drew Pomeranz was pulled for a pinch hitter in the top of the 3rd with no outs and a runner on first.  Granted, Pomeranz had allowed two runs (one of which was unearned due to his own error) but thatís hardly a sign of throwing batting practice.  The Dodgers lost 2-3.

Again, I can find no evidence of an injury.

The Dodgers made a couple minor changes to the weekly MP, but none that would/should have impacted such inexplicable actions.

Any of you far more fluent in reading into MP structure and/or box scores are most certainly welcome to offer a logical explanation.  Although the balance of the Dodgers' 2018 season has been relegated to playing out the string, if there is something that could be avoided in 2019 and beyond, it would be valued information.

You must have fiddled with your rotation order or reset the "Next Starter" number. Both pitchers were throwing on 1 day of rest. Arrieta pitched on the 8th and then had his short outing on the 10th. Pomz started on the 9th and then had his short outing on the 11th.

I've done that before...

The biggest culprit for me is making a change to an MP, simming the rest of the season, or week... but then forgetting to reset the next starter box when I send it to the  EC for submission.

Looking over the Bos scores Doug...

It looks like that's what Bit you...

Arrieta started on the 8th. and 10th..
Pomerantz on the 9th and 11th..

Its looks to me like the next starter in your MP for last week was set to 1( Arrieta)

It probably should have been set to 3

Gentlemen,
Your tips provided me with enough of a scent to track down the error.  I inadvertantly resent the Week 23 MP instead of the Week 24 version created the most recent sim.  As a result, Arrieta and Pomeranz did indeed have starts with one days rest opposed to the intended Starter No. 3, Rick Porcello leading off the week.

The Dodgers may need a new GM.

Just a heads up. Week 25 is likely to be late. I live 30 mi west of Myrtle beach. Iím fully expecting to lose power sometime Thursday and donít know when Iíll get it back. Iíll sim  when things get back on and settled.

It looks to be a doozy heading our way.

Yikes - please be careful! Do you want me to take over the sim for week 25? I'm happy to do it and shouldn't face any storm issues here in Kentucky.

Lots of luck Tracy. What town, I was in Myrtle Beach in July and caught a minor league game.

That would be ideal.  I might be able to get my MP sent tonight.  If I get everything off my list that I'm getting ready to work on I should have down time tonight to do that.

Thank you much,

Larry

I live in Green Sea, SC.  It is on the edge of NC/SC line and the Northern edge of Horry County which is where MB is located.  It takes me about 45 minutes to drive to MB from where I live.  I usually go to NMB for most of what I need to do if I have to go to the beach to shop or take the family to the beach for the day.

The Pelicans is a great place to take in a minor league game.  Normally we go to 5-6 games a year.  This year we only attended two.  Just couldn't make it work for more.

Tracy, I hope you and the family are planning to leave?  If not, PLEASE be safe.  I don't wanna see news footage of you chained to your house yelling at the wind!
