Procedural Question
« on: 1 Jan 2018 10:16:47 AM »
My understanding (or lack thereof) of the process aside, I have two remaining players who will require salary decisions and a better grasp of the governing rule seems in order.  If the Dodgers opt to not accept the AE demand of one and/or the contract renewal option of the other, before the players come off the roster they each must pass through waivers (or be claimed by another team)?

That seems like the addition of an unnecessary step, but if it is the rule then so be it.

You know more of the rules than I do (you were probably the first person to help me 12 years ago) but I have seen other players have their options declined and not go to waivers

When a GM declines a team option or refuses an arbitration demand, that player is immediately released into the Free Agent pool without any secondary move on the part of the GM.
