Nationals Trade Block
« on: 13 Dec 2017 4:43:33 PM »
Washington is looking at 2018 as a reloading year.  With that in mind, I am shopping a number of players that could be very useful to a contending club.  All are free agents-to-be (some are LTC eligible), but come at a bargain salary relative to their production with no long-term risk!
  • Daniel Murphy - one of the best hitters in MLB the last 2 seasons, miles ahead of the free agent 2B options
  • Alex Cobb - solid mid-rotation starter, potential LTC candidate
  • Sean Doolittle - 157 ERA+ in 2017
  • Greg Holland - 137 ERA+ ZiPS projection
In all cases, I would be most interested in draft picks.  Which round/how many depends on the player.

PM is the best way to reach me if interested in any of these guys.

I hesitated to put Steven Matz on the block earlier in the offseason because he's coming off a poor, injury-plagued season and I didn't want to sell low. But he still has a solid projection for 2018 and several years of cheap team control left.

So, testing the waters here... if you're not enamored with paying the current going rate for FA starters, shoot me an offer.
