This isnít exactly what youíre asking about, but Carlos Sanchez with the Rockies now goes by Yolmer Sanchez.

Thanks Jon!

Curious... why is the Decline LTC offer even an option?
Great question, or more to the point for me, why does declining mean no one else can offer? Iíll have some time this week to read the code. My assumption is that it was the easiest way to close the .php.

I've confirmed my assumption.  It's an easy end to the .php and that's about it.

I've put this on my database to-do list, but check me when the disk comes out.  I want to see if they issue a new dmb_uid number (which wouldn't make sense, but it's Imagine Sports we're talking about...) or if they'll just change the name.

The database work for the off-season is now essentially complete aside from adding Winter Draft picks to rosters when it is completed and adding the remainder of the WD eligible players to the FA pool.  Announcements for further important dates will be given as soon as the EC has agreed to a rough outline.  Thanks, folks!

Here are some rough dates for the remainder of the off-season:

*Projected final team ZiPS release date roughly Friday, 2/9.

*Arb/Option decisions due Friday 2/9, 11:59:59 PM Eastern.

*Tier 1 FA begins Monday, 2/12, bids due 11:59:59 PM Eastern, I'll open up the GM Desk on Saturday 2/10 for bids.

*Tier 2 FA begins Monday, 3/5, bids due 11:59:59 PM Eastern, I'll change the GM Desk to Tier 2 on Saturday, 3/3.

*Tier 3 FA begins/LTC negotiation window closes roughly Monday, 3/26, bids due 11:59:59 PM Eastern.  This date will be in flux, as Tier 3 FA begins after we've had 1 day with zero teams submitting a Tier 2 bid.

**Week 1 MP Tentatively Due: Friday, 4/20, 11:59 PM EST**

Our schedule to catch up to real life looks like this:

Week 1 MP Due: Friday, 4/20, 11:59 PM EST
Week 2 MP Due: Tuesday, 4/24, 11:59 PM EST
Week 3 MP Due: Friday, 4/27, 11:59 PM EST
Week 4 MP Due: Tuesday, 5/1, 11:59 PM EST
Week 5 MP Due: Friday, 5/4, 11:59 PM EST
Week 6 MP Due: Tuesday, 5/8, 11:59 PM EST
Week 7 MP Due: Friday, 5/11, 11:59 PM EST
Week 8 MP Due: Tuesday, 5/15, 11:59 PM EST
Week 9 MP Due: Friday, 5/18, 11:59 PM EST

After this point, we return to MPs being due on Fridays only.

Summer Draft begins June 4th, so just over two weeks after we are caught up.

**Should the ZiPS disk be released sooner, we'll absolutely start sooner.  This schedule was made based on dates of release the last three years.**

Bumping this, as Arb/Option decisions are due a week from Friday.

My apologies for being AWOL with regard to Tier 1 FA and Winter Draft picks.  I have had a few unexpected things come up in the last few weeks that have required a great deal of my time and attention.

I am adjudicating all day Saturday, out of town.  My hope is to get to my hotel at a decent hour on Friday and crank through as much as I can and then finish it all up Sunday.  Either way, we certainly won't be delayed on my account.

Thanks for your patience and understanding!
Jon

Tier 1 free agents are now listed.

It's possible winter draft players will get added tonight during the pre and post game of the Justin Timberlake concert.  Some of that will depend on how much my family wants to play board games while the game is going on.  Yes, we are nerds.  We are fine with it. :)

Is there a cutoff date to accept LTCs?

Tier 3 FA, essentially.  Late March.

With the release of the last ZiPS, this is a reminder the Arb/Opt decisions are due by the end of the day Friday!

Tier 1 FA begins Monday.  I'll open up the bid interface sometime Saturday morning and make an announcement at that point.

Are the new rules going to be released prior to Tier 1. I am hoping the problems from last year will be addressed.

thanks

Is there a league zips spreadsheet as in year's past?  If so, could that be posted?  Thanks in advance.

The only rule change that will pertain to Tier 1 FA is that roster limits will be enforced during the off-season.  Our limit is 53 this year, so if you sign a player that puts you at 54, you must DFA/irrevocably waive a player immediately (I believe our rule is within 48 hours, but during FA I'll be PMing people at an annoyingly frequent rate if moves aren't made).

There will be no changes to the FA calculator in terms of 1-year deals and there will be no changes to the current trade setup.

That spreadsheet comes from Dan (ZiPS Dan) and is not yet available.  I've read on his twitter that he's been putting it together as he goes this year, so it's possible we'll have it before Tier 2 starts.  It normally isn't available until March.

This is also a reminder that the free agents listed is a fairly comprehensive list, but it does NOT contain every player.  If you know of someone who received a projection that isn't listed, they ARE still eligible to receive bids a la Matt Bush last year.  HOWEVER...if a player is not in our system at all, they cannot receive bids.  If you know of a player who received a projection and should be a free agent, but that player isn't listed on the FA tab nor are they found via the player search page, please post that name here.  I'll get any players added prior to Tier 2.

Winter Draft players will actually be added to rosters and free agency this weekend.  I have some time carved out during the kids' nap time tomorrow.
