Actually, the right solution is obviously for the EC to give Moreno a SP rating and the Jays to turn a reasonableprofit on him by trading him to the Yankees for roughly what I bid for him. Everyone's a winner!

And by everyone, I mean me and Scot. The rest of you didn't even know Moreno existed, so no soup for you!  :P

For clarity here: The disk came that way last year.  I didn't remove any SP ratings!

Some of knew Moreno existed but also knew that he is 31 and apparently not even in a Major League  camp and saw no reason to waste a pick on him.

Moreno's only start last season was a 1-inning, injury-rehab appearance in high-A. We'll see how the final ZiPS disk shakes out.

I figure I come out ahead either way. If he gets a SP rating, I trade him. If he doesn't, he bolsters my bullpen.

I wouldn't ask the EC to tweak the projection disk in any way. By our rules, if he gets a SP rating on the disk, he keeps it. If he doesn't, there's no reason to add one in.

Yep - he's a nice find at a low risk, no matter what happens.

The bolded portion is inaccurate in part.  If this particular player gets one, he keeps it, but any pitcher with only 1 GS will have their SP rating removed.  Just clarifying for anyone who may be on the lookout for other "lucky dog" pitchers.

Jon,

Yep, sorry about that - the rule says any pitcher with 1 GS gets the SP rating removed; Moreno is safe under our rules because he got 2 GS projected. Thanks for clarifying.

Colby Rasmus is available. Projected to a 103 OPS+, but he's typically projected to hit RHP very well, so he can fill the heavy half of a platoon for you. Projected to VG/44 D in LF and VG/79 in RF (and AV/68 in CF, eith an EX arm.
